Groundhogs are usually active during the daytime, in which they can eat your crops, further ruining your gardens or landscape. These mammals hibernate and when they wake in Spring they enter breeding season. The female gives birth to 2-6 young. The babies nurse for about six weeks before moving out to find their own den. If you have a groundhog you should try to humanely remove it immediately as if they burrow under your home or deck this can cause some damage. They will often chew through electrical wires and irrigation systems that may be in their way which can end up costing you.
